Solar businesses come and go, and often it is the home owner or business client left with a faulty solar power system and no-one to contact

Which is why it was a major decision for us here at Omega Solar + Batteries to go through the rebranding process from Gold Coast Energy to Omega Solar

Our journey began in 2008 when our Director and Chief Technical Officer became an Accredited CEC Solar Installer

Having grown up and trained on the Gold Coast Greg was committed to serving and giving back to the local area and Gold Coast Energy was born

With a consistently high standard of work, it wasn’t long before Gold Coast Energy became Accredited Master Electricians

We began our Brisbane Commercial Solar Installations with a massive first project of 100kW in 2011 with Solar Battery Stand-Alone Accreditation soon to follow

While our core business was and still is Gold Coast Solar Energy Installation, we were often being mistaken as an energy provider

With a record amount of new solar capacity fitted to Australia’s households and businesses in the first three months of 2019, our service area has also grown

So, with the ongoing confusion over our service offering and our ever increasing service area, the decision to look at a name change was born

Omega Solar + Batteries now install Solar power in the Northern Rivers region in New South Wales (although we were already working in that area through our sister company Nickel Energy), as well as the Gold Coast Region

We have also expanded into Brisbane Solar power installs

With the increase of 46% on solar panel installs in Australia against the same period last year, according to the consultancy Green Energy Markets, our business has grown

In fact it’s calculated that Australians will save $600 million on their power bills over the next decade, thanks to solar installations

Being a part of this growth and the confusion over the word “energy” in our name was the final push to take the risk of to go through the rebranding process

What excites us as a premier local solar company is the solar industry is bringing benefits in other areas, generating new jobs in the renewable energy sector
